Summer Chinook salmon season typically starts early July around the 16th these fish are large summer kings and can reach the mid to upper teensĀ and the 20 lb range.
These kings are feeding and schooling and are very ferocious fighters typically pulling line and creating screaming reels we fish for our summer kings at point Jefferson Edmonds and the south and west side of Whidby Island the inner and outer bar of possession point with Summer kings are subject to a catch quota for each marine area and the season 1 to 2 weeks in area 9 whinby island and 4 to 5 weeks in area 10 Edmonds which makes for a month long king fishery.
