The Seattle August Pink Salmon fishing and Coho Salmon fishing has been nothing but hot here in Edmonds Washington. We have been getting quick and easy limits of Pink Salmon around Edmonds at the oil docks and Richmond beach. In addition Norma Beach has been very productive as well.

Later in the month of August we found many boat limits of Pink Salmon at Browns Bay which is just north of Edmonds and the shipwreck across from Possession Point and Whidbey Island which is just South of Everett Washington.

The Pinks Salmon this year are huge and well above the average on these odd number year runs. Remember Pinks tend to run only every other year with very small runs in the odd years The Coho Salmon we are catching have also been above average in size. These fat bright Silvers are truly a beautiful fish.

The sea run Coho we get in Northwest Washington are some of the best eating Coho you will find anywhere. These fish spend 2 years in the Gulf of Alaska and fatten up before returning to NW Washington to spawn. Pound for pound Coho Salmon have as much fighting energy than any fish you will hook into. Once hooked these sparky fish will take to the air multiple times trying to shake the hook that has just embedded in their lip. You will find these fish will take the fight all the way back to the boat, blink once and they will unbutton themselves so quick it will make your head spin. Many a fishermen has had their excitement tempered right at the boat as they see the fish throw the hook just before they get scooped up in the net.

Mark your calendar for August Pink Salmon Fishing of next year to enjoy a day of fishing with Big King Salmon Charters.
